This is what you get offered while creating a new Twitter account. There is no way to check profiles of those “recommended” users and the mix itself is in fact little strange (if nothing else, it’s completely US centric).

I’m not going into the battle, who is better at using Twitter, because there is definitely no contest in that (and nobody is the judge either), but I cannot ignore this statistics:
